Esta versión de The Guest lleva la firma de Kzeng Jiang, el primer artista de origen chino que se une al universo creativo de este icónico personaje. Creativo afincado en Shanghái, su obra capta la cultura contemporánea de Oriente a través de ilustraciones vibrantes y radicales. Kzeng busca plasmar sus raíces culturales a través de la simbología de tradiciones como la pintura facial china o las flores de la dinastía Song. Elementos que reinterpreta bajo su prisma personal y que en esta caso se representan, por ejemplo, con tres grandes ojos en el rostro que, según el autor, “le permiten ver, pasado, presente y futuro, como si fuera un mensajero que viaja a través del tiempo”. A nivel cromático, Kzeng recurre a los azules sobre la porcelana blanca para procurar armonía visual y equilibrio. Colores que combina con trazos en lustre dorado para crear esa sensación de prestigio que era tan propia de las antiguas porcelanas chinas. El resultado es una creación que transmite la elegancia que otorga la porcelana y es ejemplo del diseño más conceptual y contemporáneo.
